Danolyte has demonstrated effectiveness against viruses similar to SARS-CoV-2 on hard porous and/or non-porous surfaces. Therefore, Danolyte can be used against SARS-CoV-2 when used in accordance with the directions for use against Adenovirus Type 1, on hard, porous/non-porous surfaces. Danolyte® is a metastable, aqueous solution, that is generated through an electrolytic process. Unlike traditional electrolysis with saline solution, Danolyte® maintains high activation energy that brings about an accelerated disinfection process.

Danolyte’s® active ingredient, hypochlorous acid, is produced at 500 ppm and has a much greater biocidal effect than commonly used chlorine bleach due to Danolyte’s® high ORP (Oxidation-Reduction Potential) of> 900mV.

The activity of hypochlorous acid as a bactericide is greatly superior to that of the sodium hypochlorite (Bleach) being almost 100 times more powerful. Manipulating the pH is the secret behind our proprietary technology. Hypochlorous Acid produced onsite from a Danolyte Global DJIT system typically has a pH of 6.5. At this pH more than 90% of the free available chlorine is HOCl, less than 10% OCL- and no CL2 are formed. The concentration of Free Available Chlorine (FAC) is 500+ PPM.

Hypochlorous acid carries no electrical charge, it moves quickly, oxidizing bacteria in a matter of seconds, while the hypochlorite ion bleach might take up to a half hour to do the same. Germ surfaces carry a negative electrical charge which results in a repulsion of the negatively charged hypochlorite ion (bleach)to the area of the germ surfaces, making hypochlorite ion less effective at killing germs. Hypochlorous acid’s lack of electrical charge allows it to more efficiently penetrate the protective barriers surrounding germs.
